2010 Porsche 911 GT3 RPorsche will debut its new 911 GT3 R at the Birmingham Motor Show in January. The new model will be raced by customers in series based on the international FIA GT3 regulations and will succeed the 911 GT3 Cup S.

The new model features better drivability and easier handling, including anti-lock brakes, traction control, and an electronic gas with throttle-blip function, making it easier to drive for ambitious amateur racing drivers.

The Porsche 911 GT3 R uses a 4.0-litre six-cylinder boxer engine, delivering a maximum of 480 horsepower, and transmitted to the rear axle by a sequential six-speed gearbox. Weighing just 1,200 kg, it offers 30 horsepower more than the GT3 Cup model.

The Porsche GT3 R is built by Porsche’s Motorsport Department at the Weissach Development Centre and will retail with a base price of €279,000.
